Until recently Selma Penseel was in charge of corporate communications at the Dutch Public Broadcasting Company and she acted as a spokeswoman for the board of directors. At Plan Nederland, a part of non-profit organisation Plan International, she was responsible for the much-discussed campaign 'Because I Am a Girl' and she also implemented the communications reform process. Penseel was involved in campaigns for the Netherlands' general and local elections, serving various ministers. She is a political scientist.
